TALAN Invites You to Expoprotection 2026 in Paris
TALAN will participate in the international exhibition Expoprotection 2026. We invite our clients and partners to visit our stand and discover advanced solution…
The working day has only just started and it’s already hot in your shoes? Your feet are ‘steaming’, the insoles are getting wet and in the evening there is a feeling of heaviness, chafing and even an unpleasant smell. In fact, it’s not just discomfort and fatigue. It is a signal that the shoes are not ‘breathing’. In conditions of high temperatures, high humidity, long shifts or confined spaces, breathable work boots are a basic necessity, not a luxury.
In this article, we’ll explain why ventilation in work footwear is more important than you might think, what technologies provide breathability and how to choose the right pair of safety footwear for the job. We will also show how TALAN combines protection and comfort to make every step at work a pleasure.
Shoes may look impressive and have a solid sole, but if the inside of the foot has no natural heat regulation – comfort ends after a few hours. In order for a working pair to really ‘breathe’, it is important how it is made inside and out. Here’s what to look out for:
It’s impossible to pinpoint one perfect pair that will suit everyone. But it is possible to find something that works for you. The key is to look beyond looks and price and ask yourself the right questions.
Do you move around the warehouse frequently? Then a slip-resistant sole with SRC designation is important. Do you spend a lot of time outdoors? Look for models with waterproof properties. If there are no heavy loads, O-class boots are a lighter and more flexible option.
If there is a risk of heavy objects falling, choose S1, S1P, S2 or S3. These come with an insole, but can be breathable thanks to perforated zones and mesh inserts. If there is no such risk, the O1, O2 or O3 models provide lightness and ventilation without unnecessary protection.
Don’t limit yourself to looks. The materials of the upper, lining and insole affect how the shoe lets air through. The more mesh or perforations, the higher the comfort level. However, if you are working in a wet environment, look for models with a membrane.
This not only affects fatigue, but also ventilation. Lightweight materials dry faster and retain less heat. If the shoe seems heavy, the foot will tire even faster.
At TALAN, we know how important it is that footwear works with you and not against you. Especially in the summer. Especially in hot workshops and warehouses. That’s why our engineers have created a range of models that make ventilation not a feature, but a standard.
What makes TALAN shoes breathable:
Yes, if the model complies with EN ISO 20345 or 20347. It is the materials that are responsible for ventilation, not the lack of protection.
Some models with a membrane are suitable for winter. However, in case of severe cold weather, insulated boots are preferable.
As a rule, no. If moisture protection is required, choose models with a membrane.
Yes, especially if you sweat a lot. It is recommended to replace them every 3-6 months to maintain hygiene.
Breathable work boots are something you’ll feel from your first shift. It’s lightness. It’s comfort. It’s something everyone who works in heat, on the move, in dusty or humid environments should have. It’s not just footwear, it’s about looking after your health and your day.
