In recent years, the topics of ecology and environmental sustainability have attracted widespread attention. We often hear not only about environmental sustainability, but also about ecologically sustainable business. Discussion about the future, in which we will certainly have to adopt a new approach to production and consumption, in relation to work and employees, and finally to waste collection. One of the most promising ways to solve the environmental problems of industrial production in the world is a systematic approach to environmental management, based on the requirements of the international standards of the ISO 14000 series. The first ISO 14000 series standards were developed by the International Organization for Standardization in 1996. Among the best practices of a sustainable lifestyle is, of course, the choice of environmentally friendly and recyclable products. All the items that end up in the trash were once bought new, but it is only when we get rid of them that we understand how many types of materials are not suitable for reuse, which leads to the creation of waste.

Therefore, choosing an environmentally friendly product is one of those small actions that are within our capabilities and can change the fate of the planet and future generations.

How to choose an eco-friendly product?

When buying any product, we are responsible for how to place in the environment an item that will one day inevitably turn into garbage along with all its accompanying elements: packaging, etc.
It should also be added that due to the fact that in recent decades, as a result of the transfer of production processes to other countries, a large number of companies are trying to reduce their costs by finding resources and labor in regions of the world where employee protection practically does not exist, production does not need to be added. When buying these goods, very often we unknowingly promote systems that are the complete opposite of sustainable development and indirectly contribute to environmental pollution.
A conscious consumer can help improve the ecological situation on our planet.
First of all, it is worth starting with the fact that every time we make a purchase, we ask ourselves three simple questions:
Where does the product I am buying come from? Knowing where the product is made is one of the elements of conscious consumption. This information, which companies are required to provide (“Made in…” is on every type of product), helps to understand what production methods are used and what led to the product being created. The consumer can predict what standards are used in production and what impact they have on the environment, because such information varies greatly from country to country.

What is a product made of? Not only is the composition of the product important, but also the packaging it comes in. This packaging is the first to end up in the trash. If you prefer products packaged in boxes made of recyclable materials, you are making a small contribution to great positive changes for our planet.

What happens when I no longer need it? The objects we use in everyday life and at work do not last forever. But even when we stop using them, it does not mean that they cease to exist. Therefore, the next step towards conscious consumption is to use those goods that can be easily recycled at the end of their life cycle.
One of the goals set by government leaders in many industrialized countries is to move towards a circular economy, where waste and pollution are reduced to zero, to close the circle every time something is thrown away for recycling and then reintroduced to the market as a raw material. Thus, a company that can be considered environmentally sustainable is characterized by great care for the well-being of its employees, people living in areas where technologies that minimize the impact on the environment are manufactured and used. The implementation of an environmental management system in a company is regulated by the granting of an ISO 14001 certificate. It can be obtained after an audit by a certification body.

TALAN: AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE COMPANY WITH ISO 14001 CERTIFICATE

The concept of environmentally sustainable development used in the world of footwear production is characterized by the selection of environmentally friendly raw materials that are processed with a low environmental impact.

Our company is committed to reducing the negative impact on the environment. We have implemented an effective environmental management system developed in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard.
TALAN uses its own methodology and, even if the production components do not help, it has decided to create ecological and environmentally friendly models of work and protective footwear that are recyclable, from fuel pellets to packaging!!
Please note that the packaging used in our production is made of recycled paper, which reduces resource consumption and increases the environmental friendliness of the product. Optimized packaging reduces processing and waste, it can only benefit the environment. In addition, it facilitates the transport of products, because the packaging is compact and, compared to other manufacturers, minimized, while at the same time resistant to external influences and of course 100% environmentally friendly.

Attention and commitment to environmental sustainability is one of TALAN’s key activities.

Of course, there are materials that cannot be recycled, but we do our utmost to find a suitable solution that allows the reuse of as many parts as possible, thus avoiding their destruction, which could harm the environment.
