How to take care of work shoes

Work shoes are an important part of workwear that provides reliable and effective protection for the feet during professional duties. High-quality safety shoes for workers should be as comfortable to wear as possible, as they will be used throughout the shift to avoid injuries at work. Following the rules of care will help ensure that professional work shoes remain in good condition for a long time.
Rules for the care of work shoes
Professional work shoes should be cleaned of dirt after each work shift. You can clean them with a sponge or a special brush, preventing damage to the surface. Cleaning with organic solvents is unacceptable, so additional protection should be used when painting.
It is necessary to clean not only the sole and toe of the shoes, but also their upper part and bends, otherwise the accumulation of dirt will lead to brittleness of the material.
Cleaned safety shoes should be dried in the open air or in a ventilated room. To avoid drying out of the material, do not place safety shoes closer than 30 cm from radiators and do not place them directly on batteries and other heaters.
If your safety shoes get wet during your work, you should not dry them without first cleaning them, because removing the dried dirt later can significantly damage the surface.
How to clean them properly? Dirty leather work shoes such as the Aviator 213 SE or Galaxy 219 should be cleaned immediately after returning home, but in any case before going outside, because if the dirt dries at home, the leather will quickly lose its appearance. Don’t delay, take a few minutes and tidy up your shoes.
Yes, first clean the dirt with a dry brush, then wipe with a clean damp cloth and wait for it to dry. If the leather work shoes are very wet, wipe them dry with a soft cloth. Then, apply a protective cream with a special brush or sponge and leave the work shoes overnight. This will give the leather time to absorb the grease. And in the morning, apply a shine with a special sponge.
Most people make the same mistake: they don’t clean real leather work shoes, but simply apply the cream immediately. As a result, many layers of cream and dyes are formed on the leather, which spoil the shoes, not allowing the leather to “breathe”. So do not forget that leather shoes should first be cleaned, and only then re-apply the care product.
Storage
Another essential element of caring for leather work shoes is their proper storage. Compliance with storage conditions also affects the service life of work shoes. Storage should be carried out in a dry place, where there is no access to dust, direct sunlight and chemicals. In the off-season, each pair of leather work shoes should be stored in a separate cardboard box or in special bags made of natural material, pre-cleaned, dried and treated with an appropriate tool at a temperature of about 18 ° C and relative humidity up to 65%. To avoid deformation, it is better to put a special plastic bookmark or crumpled paper inside the safety shoe.
It should be remembered that Talan safety shoes made of natural materials are intensively destroyed by pests, including moths, therefore, for prevention, ventilation of the storage area is necessary.
